The twenty ninth General Convocation, Convocation 2013, of the University of Jaffna to be held on 10th and 11th of January 2014 as decided by the University Council. This convocation comprises of four sessions on each day at the Kailasapathy Auditorium with the first session commencing at 9.00 am.

The community of University of Jaffna is proud to announce that more than 1300 students receive degrees and/or diplomas at this convocation: it includes 04 Doctor of Philosophy, 14 Master of Philosophy, 127 Master of Education, 22 Master of Arts, 08 Master of Science, 129 Postgraduate Diploma in Education, 12 Postgraduate Diploma in Library & Information Science, and 898 Bachelor Degrees including 373 B.A, 115 B.FA, 16 LLB, 133 BBA, 86 B.Sc, 51 B.Sc.(Agri), 04 B.Sc.(CompSc), 68 MBBS, 15 Allied Health Sciene Degrees and 2 Sidhdha Medicine.

Moreover, sixty students would receive Diploma and 222 students would receive degrees from External Degree Programmes.

As post-convocation events Sir Pon. Ramanathan Memorial Lecture and Lady Leelawathy Ramanathan Memorial Lecture will be held at the Kailasapathy Auditorium on 12 January 2014 and 13 January 2014 respectively by Professor N Gnanakumaran on "Conceptual Development in Hinduism and Buddhism in Sri Lanka in the Last Century", and by Professor M Sinnathamby on Technical and Technology Education in Sri Lanka: Moving from Stagnation to Sustainability"
